One of the moths around at this time of year is the aptly-named Pine Beauty (Panolis flammea), which is both beautiful and has a caterpillar that feeds on Pine. It is the first time I've had one in my trap in Bolton le Sands as pine trees are quite scattered around here. This one is freshly-emerged, without a scale out of place!.
